Fun experimenting with pouring techniques
We shall look at 3 different acrylic pouring techniques during this workshop and you will each create 3 pieces of art to take home, remember it is wet work your taking home so think about how you will travel with it in the car
2 x canvas pieces of a 25 x 20 cm canvas minimum size.
1 x circular 25cm diameter wood canvas
This is a technique that’s all in the wrist. No silicone is used and its the beauty of the natural poured rings not cells we are looking for. (if you have already attended a techniques class please remind me and I shall make this one a little different for you)
Floating cup pour
This technique will introduce the use of negative space and bright cells while floating your cup on top of the base layer. With this technique I will also be able to show how to stretch cells to make them larger.
The swipe technique can be a little tricky to get the hang of, However this is certainly a key acrylic pouring skill that has to be explored as the results are mesmerising. Probably my favourite in terms of finished result.
This is an opportunity to ask further questions from the first workshop, canvas preparation, finishes or anything else
Trouble shooting – Common issues and ways to solve them.
Included are all materials required on the day , gloves, disposable carry boxes and a handout covering key information. Please wear old clothes.
Please note …. This is all about exploring and experimenting. Each pouring artist favours certain pouring techniques.
Its a learning class and I can not guarantee you will get your finished work home looking the same as before your car journey. You will of learnt the technique and can replicate at home.
This workshop is aimed to help you with a few popular techniques which each differ in the skill used. Lets find out which one you will fall in love with.
